As you think about roulette, the first thing that comes to the mind is the spinning wheel and the ball. Majority of people do not have any idea that there is also a table where all the bets are placed. Having clear knowledge about the roulette table strategy is one vital part of the game.
A standard roulette table strategy consists of three main components. There is a role of the table itself, and then you need to learn about the placing of bets, and lastly the calculation of the odds.
The Table has a role in the Roulette Strategy
In roulette, the elongated table is the crucial component where the bets are placed. This cloth-covered area on a roulette table is also known as the layout. The layout consists of either single-zero or double-zero. The European-style has a single zero layout, and the American version layout is usually a double-zero. In most casinos, we see the American-style roulette table which has a wheel at one end. This wheel has a notch in the table where the dealer stands. The table with felt table cover has boxes showing numbers 1 through 36 arranged in three different columns and 12 rows.
The wheel has got 38 numbered slots, each having a same colored background as the matching number on the table layout. The dealer spins the roulette wheel in one direction and then spins a small hard ball generally made of ivory in the opposite direction. When the speed of the ball lessons, it falls off the track and bounces around the wheel until it settles in a specific slot with a number.
Placing of bets
To understand a roulette table strategy you need to understand the betting rules. Roulette comprises of 11 types of bets, each has different odds and payout. You may place as many bets as you like on each spin, and the roulette table generally imposes minimum and maximum bets. Players can still lay aside bets when the ball is spinning, provided that the croupier – who actually spins the roulette wheel yet, has not waved his hand over the table. There are two main styles of bets we get to see in roulette, inside bets and outside bets. Placing the chip on a single number is considered an inside bet. Inside bets give a higher payout with a lower possibility of winning. Whereas outside bets have a lower payout when winning, however, the chances of winning are better.
What Are the Odds
To understand the roulette table strategy you need to know of how roulette odds work. Basically, your odds of winning are just the number of possible winning numbers which are divided by the number of total numbers. When betting a single number, the odds would be 1 to 38 as per American style wheel and 1 to 37 as per European style wheel.
